According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in March 2017 amounted to 1,070 GWh, which is 19.4 % less than in the same month last year, when the production amounted to 1,327 GWh.
During March, 563 GWh of electricity or 52.62 % was produced in hydropower plants, 357 GWh or 33.36 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 103 GWh or 9.62 % of total produced electricity. In this period, Croatia imported 699 GWh of electricity, which is 4.5 % more than in March 2016, while electricity exports stood at 297 GWh, which is 34.1 % less than in March 2016.
