According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat), overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as carbon dioxide equivalent, for 2015 were 475.1 million tons.
Turkey’s energy sector was responsible for the majority of overall GHG emissions in 2015, holding the 71.6 % share. The energy sector was followed by industrial processes and product use at 12.8 %, agricultural activities at 12.1 % and waste with 3.5 %.
