President of the General Mine Workers’ Union Ahmet Demirci said that Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise (TTK) has more than one billion tons of coal reserve and about 40 million tons of that amount are under the Turkish part of the Black Sea.
According to Demirici, TTK produced coal from under the Black Sea for years and he underlines that there is no danger in continuing undersea coal production. The reserves are located at the depth of about 200 meters.
