Romanian Minister of Energy Victor Grigorescu said in an interview that as of next year, gas producers and suppliers will be obliged to sell at least 40 % of traded quantities on the exchange, otherwise they will be facing fines based on their turnover.
Minister Grigorescu said that the Government is preparing an emergency ordinance on this matter, that will amend current electricity and natural gas laws. The ordinance could be approved by the end of the month. According to him, this way the prices will become transparent for everyone and more players will enter the market, which will allow lower prices for end consumers.
