Bulgaria has the lowest share of renewables in energy consumption among SEE EU member states – Region, 19 January 2023

According to data published by Eurostat, Bulgaria recorded the lowest share of gross final energy consumption from renewable sources in 2021 among the five EU members in southeastern Europe (SEE). Bulgaria’s RES share stood at 16.8 %, which is well below the EU average of 21.8 %.
