German electricity prices reached six-year record – Region, 31 August 2018

Baseload energy for 2019 was last traded at 50.1 euros/MWh on Thursday 30 August on the EEX power exchange, reaching the highest level since August 2012, spurred by soaring CO2 emission rights prices and firm coal prices.

The EUA contracts for December 2018 soared to a new 10-year maximum of 21.6
