Wind and solar electricity generation surpassed gas in 2022 in the EU – Region, 31 January 2023

According to think tank Ember, wind and solar generated a record 22.3 % of the European Union’s electricity in 2022, thus overtaking natural gas, which had 19.9 % share, for the first time.
