The Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) have called for EU legislators to bring renewable energy sources (RES) fully into the market in the clean energy transition.
Regulators have recommended three changes to the European Commission’s Clean Energy proposal. The first one is to extend the prohibition of priority dispatch (i.e. priority running) also to existing RES plants (and not only to new RES plants as per the Commission’s proposal), so that all technologies compete fairly in the market to deliver the lowest possible cost to consumers.
