Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said that Russia and Turkey could sign the final agreement on the construction of TurkStream gas pipeline project during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey on Monday.Minister Novak said that the project is at a high degree of readiness inter-governmentally, adding that both countries are making every effort in the remaining time to carry out all the necessary procedures, so there is a real possibility that the final agreement will be signed on Monday, on the sidelines of the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul. He also said that large projects such as TurkStream gas pipeline and nuclear power plant Akkuyu are crucial in the process of reviving the countries’ bilateral ties after the incident with the downing of Russian warplane. He reminded that the first phase of TurkStream project, which is based on build-operate-transfer (BOT) model, envisages the construction of two pipes.
