Hungarian President Janos Ader has referred the amendments on Energy Law back to the Parliament for a review since these amendments practically ban the construction of wind farms in the country.
Hungarian Government has adopted several amendments to the Energy Law with the aim to prevent the construction of wind farms in Hungary. But instead of the explicit ban on the construction of wind turbines, which would surely be frowned upon by the EU, the amendments proposed the ban on the construction of wind turbines in the radius of 12 kilometers from the nearest settlement.
