In early 2015, the construction of biomass power plant in Sombor was announced, but the construction works have not yet begun, although they were planned.
One of the co-investors in the project, Vladimir Boskovic said to the media that the project is delayed due to new regulations in the energy sector and the leasing of state land by investors. He added that the obtaining of all necessary permits is currently ongoing, after which the construction of the plant could begin.
