Alexandru Patruti, an advisor for the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC) said that the gas deposits discovered by the ExxonMobil/OMV consortium and Russian Lukoil amount to a maximum of 130 billion cubic meters and will be depleted in 20 years.
Patruti stressed that the Black Sea will certainly not be the second North Sea, adding that hydrocarbons exploration yielded results only in Romania, while in Turkey, which has the largest part of the Black Sea, exploration showed no results.
