Bulgarian state-owned gas supplier Bulgargaz proposed an increase in natural gas prices for consumers of 10.23 % in the first quarter of 2017. This is the second consecutive gas price increase proposal since the fourth quarter of 2014, after the increase of 1.97 % in the last quarter of 2016.
The company proposed to the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) that the price of natural gas for the January-March 2017 period should be about 161.5 euros per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding VAT. The increase is due to projected higher prices of gas supplies and the dollar exchange rate.
