Czech energy group CEZ said that it expects to complete the sale of its assets in Bulgaria by the end of 2017, when it will make a decision whether to sell or not.
In mid-November, Czech media reported that CEZ is very close to selling its Bulgarian assets to local company Future Energy, which placed a bid in cooperation with Indian company India Power. However, Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO has suspended Future Energy from its list of standard balancing group coordinators on the country’s electricity market as of 2 December. Media reported that several key suppliers have terminated their contracts with Future Energy, as large disbalances have been accumulated in its balancing group.
