Chairman of the Bulgarian Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) Ivan Ivanov said that the regulator has made an explicit amendment to the rules on electricity trading in order to resolve the issue regarding the client of Future Energy, which was suspended from the market as of 2 December.
According to the amendment, the clients of Future Energy have until the end of December choose a new electricity supplier. If they fail to switch their supplier within that timeframe, in order not to be supplied by the suppliers of last resort, automatically as of 1 January 2018, they will start receiving electricity from the public suppliers – CEZ, EVN or Energo-Pro depending on which part of the country they are in. This would applicable for household customers and businesses on low voltage, but not for enterprises on medium voltage.
