President of the Republic of Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik said during the ceremony which marked the official start of construction works on water supply tunnel for hydropower plant Dabar that this is a historical project and the most important investment in the regional energy sector in the past 30 years. The construction of the water supply tunnel should cost about 57 million euros.
President Dodik pointed out that this project, performed by power utility ERS and its daughter company “Hidroelektrane na Trebisnjici” (HET), is of great importance for the entire RS. He also stressed that current Government has no plans to privatize ERS and will continue to invest in renewable energy sources.
