Romanian electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica and its Moldavian counterpart Moldelectrica have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in electricity, which also includes investments in upgrading and developing energy infrastructure in Moldova.
The two sides also discussed the new development stages of Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline in the Moldovan territory, which should be extended to the country’s capital Chisinau and to Onesti in Romania. The future actions regarding the implementation of the first asynchronous electricity interconnection Isaccea-Vulcanesti-Chisinau were also discussed at the meeting of Joint Working Group on Energy held in Chisinau.
