The Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has accused local electricity distribution subsidiary of Czech energy group CEZ of dominant market position abuse. According to CPC, CEZ Bulgaria refused access to the grid for small hydropower plant Gara Eliseina, without sufficient grounds.
The statement from CPC said that the overall behaviour of the company regarding to the way in which the process of connection to the grid is conducted, represent an unfounded refusal to grant access to electricity distribution network, which curbs electricity production to the detriment of consumers.
