Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova and her Cypriot counterpart Georgios Lakkotrypis have discussed possibilities for energy cooperation between the two countries. Minister Lakkotrypis said that Cyprus considers Bulgaria as one of the countries that it could cooperate with in order to deliver natural gas to Europe.
Minister Lakkotrypis led the Cypriot delegation to Bulgaria that attended the first session of a joint workgroup established by Bulgaria and Cyprus for cooperation in the field of energy. Minister Petkova said on the occasion that Bulgaria will seriously consider any options that lead to the diversification of energy sources and gas supply routes, as well as the possibility of including Bulgaria in such projects.
