Romanian do-it-yourself retailer Dedeman has bought additional stake in electricity distributor and supplier Electrica, reaching a stake of 5.76 % in the company. Before this transaction, Dedeman’s stake in Electrica was 4.83 %.
Last month, Dedeman acquired additional 4.8 % of the shares of electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica. The company currently holds 5.5 % stake in Transelectrica, with a market value of some 25 million euros. Dedeman is the first company with 100 % Romanian private capital with sales of over one billion euros. Last year, the retailer had a turnover of 1.17 billion euros and a net profit of 159 million euros.
