President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti said that the bank is prepared to support Bulgarian plans to establish a regional gas hub and will provide financing for the project if it proves viable.
Chakrabarti pointed out that Bulgaria’s geographical position is ideal for the construction of the regional gas hub and offered bank’s expertise in the implementation of the project, which is also supported by the European Commission. He added that EBRD would like to work with the state on attracting foreign investors, but only if the feasibility study shows that the project is viable.
