The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said that the European Commission (EC) will provide a 30 million euros loan to improve energy efficiency and renewable energy production in six Western Balkans countries.
The statement from the EBRD said that the funding will go to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia in order to help these countries in the implementation of the next phase of the Regional Energy Efficiency Program (REEP). The program was launched in 2013 as a joint initiative of the EC, bilateral donors and beneficiary countries under the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).
