According to the data published by the National Institute for Statistics (INS), electricity consumption in Romania in 2017 amounted to 54.62 TWh, which is 0.4 % less compared to 2016.
The data show that industrial electricity consumption reached 42.62 TWh, which is 1.1 % more compared to the previous year. On the other hand, households electricity consumption amounted to 11.45 TWh, which is a 5.1 % decrease. Public lighting consumption dropped by 7 %, amounting to some 553 GWh.
