Electricity consumption increased by 8.5 % in the first quarter of 2016 – Romania, 12 May 2016

According to the data by National Institute for Statistics (INS), electricity consumption in Romanian in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to 14.34 TWh, which is 8.5 % more compared to the same period in 2015.
The data show that industrial electricity consumption increased by 10.6 % to 10.92 TWh. On the other hand, households electricity consumption amounted to 3.24 TWh, which is an 2.4 % increase. Public lighting consumption increased by 1.8 %, amounting to some 182 GWh.
