The Albanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) has approved the increase of electricity price for business consumers that are supplied at medium voltage, but invoiced at low voltage, to about 0.09 euros/kWh. This price is 12.7 % higher than the previous, set in December 2014.
However, business consumers have not welcomed this decision. They state that this new price is 34 % higher than the price business consumers used to pay two years ago, when electricity prices increased for all categories of consumers. Two years ago, the price for all consumers was less than 0.07 euros/kWh, but in the meantime prices for business consumers have gone up twice.
