According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, both production and consumption of electricity in Bulgaria in January-July 2017 period has increased compared to the same period last year.
Electricity production increased by 3.74 % in this period, while consumption of electricity rose from 21.98 TWh in the first seven months of 2016 to 23.38 TWh at the end of June 2017. Due to extremely high temperatures in late July, consumption in that period increased by 6.3 %, peaking to over 4,500 MWh on 31 July.
