According to Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), Turkey’s electricity production increased by 2.9 % in March 2018 compared to the same month last year. Total electricity production reached approximately 24 billion kWh in March 2018, compared to 23 billion kWh in March 2017.
The majority of produced electricity (28.5 %) came from natural gas, 16.5 % from hard coal, 15.6 % from lignite and 14.9 % from hydropower plants. Wind, geothermal and solar power plants supplied the remaining share of production.
