Macedonian power utility ELEM announced that it has completed testing procedures at two potential coal deposits in Delcevo and Pehcevo area. The company expects that it will be able to complete all the studies by the beginning of 2017 in order to announce two new coal deposits in the Dzvegor-Stamer site near Delcevo and Star Istvenik-Pancerevo site near Pehcevo.
After that, ELEM will start preparing the feasibility study for these two sites. So far, the company has invested about one million euros in testing phase. Some older studies, performed about 30 years ago, have shown the reserves of up to 50 million tons of quality coal at these two sites.
