Macedonian power utility ELEM has started procedures for the procurement of the new mining equipment for coalmines at REK (coalmine and thermal power plant) Bitola.
According to the announcement, the new equipment is intended for the usage in the newly opened coalmine at Suvodol basin, as well as in the existing open pit mines at Suvodol and Brod Gneotino. The financial framework of this project is 64.5 million euros, which are partly financed by ELEM’s own funds and the loan from German Deutsche Bank. The new equipment will enable smooth and efficient coal excavation and operation of REK Bitola in the next 15 to 20 years.
