Czech electricity distributor Energo Pro announced that it will build a new hydropower plant with the dam in Erzurum province in Northeastern Turkey. The value of this investment is about 240 million dollars.
Energo Pro currently operates several dozens of hydropower plants, mostly in Eastern Europe. It also operates five HPPs in Turkey with the combined installed capacity of 95 MW and plant to further increase its presence in the Turkish market through acquisitions of power plants and greenfield investments. The output of the new hydropower plant in Erzurum province will be 99.5 MW, while the estimated annual electricity generation will be about 340 GWh. The plant should be completed and put into operation in 2019.
