According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, final energy consumption in 2016 increased by 4 % compared to the previous year.
The sharpest increase was that of geothermal and solar thermal energy (by 12 %), followed by natural gas (7 %), petroleum products (%), district heat (3 %), electricity (2 %) and renewable energy sources in a form of wood, biogases, biofuels and wastes (1 %). The consumption of solid fuels decreased by 9 %.
