According to Romanian media, Energy Holding, which used to be one of the largest energy traders in the country, has been charged for tax evasion and embezzlement.
Sources state that the company has been accused of buying overpriced land plots from individual investors, which were apparently used to avoid paying taxes in the amount of over six billion euros. The case is conducted by the Prosecutors Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal. According to sources, the investigators have already raided the company’s offices in early August and seized the documentation.
