According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat), the country’s energy imports in July 2016 decreased by 31 % compared to the same month last year and amounted to 2.1 billion dollars. In comparison, energy imports in July 2015 stood at 3.5 billion dollars.
The country’s crude oil imports recorded a decline of 6.9 % in July compared to the same month last year. Turkey imported almost 2.3 million tons of crude oil this July, compared to 2.5 million tons last July. Cumulatively, Turkey’s crude oil imports between January and July reached 13 million tons.
