Seven coalmines that operate within Bosnian power utility EPBiH have produced 3.5 million tons of coal in the first eight months of 2016. August coal production reached 439,571 tons, which is a record production of coal in the last two and a half years. Compared to the same period last year, in the first eight months of 2016 coal production was higher by 300,000 tons.
The largest increase in coal production was achieved in Kreka coalmine, which produced 204,610 tons in August. In the first eight months of this year, coal production in Kreka mine reached 1.388 million tons, which is by some 250,000 tons more compared to the same period in 2015. Overall, all seven coalmines increased their production by 10.47 % compared to the period January-August 2015.
