The final price for the completion of the third and fourth units at Slovak nuclear power plant Mochovce will be increased for the fourth time, setting the new deadline for project’s completion as well.
The shareholders of Slovenske Elektrarne (SEAS) have approved the new budget, according to which, the cost will rise by additional 800 million euros to total cost of 5.4 billion euros. The initial cost estimate from 2008 was 2.8 billion euros. Shareholders’ General Assembly also approved the new deadline. The third unit is expected to be put into operation in late 2018, while the fourth unit should be operational a year later. The initial estimates were 2012 and 2013, respectively.
