The Albanian Government presented the Gas Master Plan for Albania, which is expected to be implemented until 2040. The Master Plan takes into account all the investments in the development of the Albanian gas distribution network necessary for the gasification of the country between 2020 and 2040.
The presented Gas Master Plan considers that Trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP), which construction started in May in Greece, will be the main source of gas supply, but it also envisages other possible sources. According to the plan, the first region in Albania that will benefit from the gasification would be Fier county and the production at gas-fired thermal power plant Vlore could be started as well.
