Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz announced that in cooperation with Austrian HABAU and local company INSPET it has completed the main gas pipeline under the Danube river, which is a part of Giurgiu-Ruse pipeline, namely Romania-Bulgaria gas interconnection.
The completion of the section under the Danube means that gas networks of Romania and Bulgaria are now connected. However, the official commissioning of the gas pipeline will be done by the end of the year.
