President of the National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE), Niculae Havrilet announced that the price of gas sold by domestic gas producers will be liberalized as of 1 April 2017, but this does not mean that the tariffs for consumers will be increased.
Havrilet explained that the final tariffs will remain regulated until 2021 as required by law, but given that the law stipulates that every consumer has the right to choose their own supplier, from 1 April 2017 the constant migration of consumers in the regulated are to suppliers who can provide better gas prices will be evident.
