According to the data from the latest INA’s financial report, domestic gas production fell by 10 % in 2016, and that fall is actually completely generated at the North Adriatic gas fields, where production dropped by 24 % compared to the previous year.
Simultaneously with the significant fall in gas production in Croatia in 2016, the increase of 16 % in gas consumption was recorded, for the first time since 2010. These two facts led to devastating conclusion: for the first time in the last 15-20 years, the share of domestic production in total gas consumption fell below 50 %.
