Gas supply from Austrian gas hub Baumgartner was resumed on Tuesday night, after the explosion on Tuesday morning interrupted gas flow to Italy and countries in southeastern Europe.
First volumes of gas were transported towards Italy on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday, hub’s operator Gas Connect Austria, confirmed that that transit supplies through the gas hub were resumed and the gas transmission lines were operating at full capacity. Gas prices on European spot markets normalized as well, price on the Italian market dropped to 26 euros/MWh from yesterday’s 75 euros/MWh.
