Head of Russian gas company Gazprom Alexey Miller said at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg that gas deliveries through the future Nord Stream 2 pipeline will be 20 % cheaper than current transit via Ukraine.
Miller explained that the fee for transit via Nord Stream 2 will be 2.1 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters of gas, while current fee for transit through Ukraine is 2.5 dollars, which means that Nord Stream 2 is 20 % cheaper option. He added that operational expenses at the northern corridor are much less than at the central corridor.
