CEO of Russian gas company Gazprom Alexey Miller said that the company, together with its partners on this project, will made a final decision on the construction of Nord Stream II gas pipeline in the following months.
Miller said that all Gazprom’s partners Engie, OMV, Wintershall, Shell and Uniper, who were involved in this project from the beginning are still there. Last month, Gazprom and its partners applied to German and Polish Competition Councils for a permit to establish a joint venture regarding Nord Stream II project. The approval from Germany was obtained, however, Gazprom did not get an approval from Competition Protection Office to sell shares in the joint venture to its partners, thus its partners have withdrawn their application for a Polish joint venture. Miller also said that Gazprom plans to define new means of financing the construction of Nord Stream II gas pipeline, which should cost about 9.9 billion dollars, underlining that all Gazprom’s partners have confirmed their participation in the project.
