Serbian state-owned power utility EPS and General Electric (GE) have signed an agreement on the procurement of the turbine for unit A4 at thermal power plant Nikola Tesla A, thus achieving significant savings.
Acting Director of EPS Milorad Grcic pointed out that the operational life of unit A4 will be extended, since the unit has been online for more than 250,000 hours, and the power output of the unit will be increased by 24 MW as well. He stressed that savings through less coal consumption and better efficiency will amount to six million euros. Due to previous cooperation between EPS and GE, the price for the turbine is 3 million euros lower compared to the same procurement in 2014. The value of this agreement amounts to 19.9 million euros.
