Government unblocked HPP Rastolita project – Romania, 17 December 2017

The Romanian Government has adopted a decision on the approval of the location of the Rastolita hydropower plant and start of expropriation procedure for privately owned building located in the expropriation corridor.
In 2014 it was estimated that the completion of the works and the putting into operation of the dam in Rastolita, delayed by the insolvency of Hidroelectrica, required an investment of some 2 million euros, and the only condition was the expropriation of 210 hectares of forest, of which more than half are owned by the state, and this depended on a Government decision.
