At the trilateral meeting between the Ministers of Energy of Greece, Israel and Cyprus held on 28 September in Athens, the project for the construction of East Med gas pipeline, which will carry gas from Eastern Mediterranean to Europe via Greece, has been discussed.
The three Ministers agreed to take some joint steps in order to promote the project, which includes the presentation of the economic and technical study for the underwater gas pipeline, while another meeting has been scheduled for December in Jerusalem. The officials also discussed electricity interconnection between the three countries through Crete, including the project for the connection of Crete with Greek mainland, carried out by the Greek electricity transmission system operator ADMIE.
