State-owned power utility HEP is leading producer of electricity from renewable sources and through the investment of some 400 million euros in the next three years in the revitalization of hydropower plants its power output will increase by 150 MW, said HEP’s CEO Perica Jukic at Lider energy conference.
Zoran Milisa from RWE Energija, Croatian subsidiary of German RWE Group, said that gas market in Croatia is expanding since 2013, but gas prices for households are still extremely low and regulatory changes are not sufficiently fast and efficient, so there is no real liberalization of gas market, especially in the households segment. In his opinion, the future of gas supply in Croatia is in mergers of suppliers on the market, where only three or four should remain.
