The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska (RS) released a statement in which it said that investments worth over 1.6 billion euros are currently under implementation in RS or, if planned investment in the construction of the second unit at thermal power plant Gacko is added, total sum exceeds 2 billion euros.
The Ministry pointed out that the negotiations regarding the construction of TPP Gacko 2 are already ongoing and that the Government has launched activities in order to realize the project for the construction of this 350 MW power plant as soon as possible. The statement further said that 300 MW TPP Stanari, in which more than 480 million euros were invested, will be put into operation by the end of September. As one of the largest project which is currently under implementation is 600 MW TPP Ugljevik 3 worth 560 million euros.
