RB Kolubara, a subsidiary of the Serbian state-owned power utility EPS, which operates the Kolubara coalmines, announced that the company has produced 13.68 million tons of lignite in the first half of 2016, which is 2.35 % more than planned.
The largest amount of coal in 2016 was excavated at Field D open pit mine with 5.93 tons of coal, which is almost 7.5 % more than planned. At the most promising open pit mine within the Kolubara basin – Tamnava West Field, 5.9 million tons of coal were produced in the first six months of this year.
