RB Kolubara, the subsidiary of the Serbian state-owned power utility EPS, which operates the Kolubara coalmines, announced that the company has produced 11.87 million tons of coal in the first five months of 2016.
The statement said that the largest quantity of coal or around 5.3 million tons was produced at Field D open pit mine, which is 2 % more than planned for the period, followed by 5.12 million tons excavated at Tamnava West Field open pit mine. These results were achieved mostly due to excellent production results in May, which exceeded planned production for that month by 7 %.
