Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic said that Serbia is at the top of the list of countries that do not save energy and announced the adoption of amendments to the Law on rational use of energy, which will provide additional incentives for energy saving.
Minister Antic said that Serbia is using its energy inefficiently and there is a lot of potential for energy saving. He noted that Serbia will have to reduce its energy consumption by 9 % in accordance with the agreement with the European Energy Community, adding that Serbia has big plans for the energy sector after the adoption of a new Energy Law which encourages investments in this sector.
